We’ve all been watching in sadness as Ukraine battles for its very existence during the current Russian invasion.
Even though we may be far for Ukraine, many of us want to help however we can.
Today, I want to share a way that you can help a Ukrainian family rebuild their homes and business – and brighten your own home too.
Enjoy the Wood is a Ukrainian company that makes beautiful 3D wooden world maps. Their work is excellent, with careful attention to detail. Their maps, available in a variety of woods, colors and sizes, are especially popular with travel lovers. The maps have sold to more than 100,000 people worldwide.
I have one of their large Birch wooden world maps in my own home, and it always draws compliments.
Enjoy the Wood is a family-run business, run by Igor and Maryna (who have four little girls) and their parents Tanya and Tolya. In normal times, they have production facilities in three Ukrainian towns.
However, due to the Russian invasion, the company’s production facilities are now in the dangerous Red Zone, and they have had to flee and cease production. Their staff have scattered. Some went to help defend Ukraine. Others remain unaccounted for.
This way, you’ll be able to not only decorate your home, but help us rebuild our homes and future.
“Nobody plans for war, deaths or becoming a refugee, but it has happened to us and our nation,” the family says. “Our president has called all manufacturers to action. Each of us must work for Ukraine and our victory. Now we need to resume production wherever possible.”
The company wants to restart production again in a safer part of Western Ukraine and provide jobs once again to many Ukrainians.
To restart production, they have found space for manufacturing and have booked some equipment in Western Ukraine, where they are currently free from the combat zone.
But the family needs our help. They have started a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to rebuild again. Backers of the campaign receive rewards that range from a poster to full 3D Wooden World Maps, depending on contribution level.
