Praia (the Portuguese word for beach) da Paradise is the theme of the summer. And until you visit the beaches of Portugal, you haven’t experienced the true meaning of paradise. The refreshing Atlantic waters and pristine long beaches are a far cry from the Mediterranean madness of the Costa Del Sol.

You’re welcomed with a relaxing Atlantic breeze, crystal blue waters with kite surfers gliding above, and a vibe that, in our opinion, no other country can match.

Below, we’ll tell you about the Praia da Paradise beaches in Portugal for the blissful escape you deserve in 2025.

Praia da Comporta

Praia da Comporta feels like a secret. The stunning white sand seems to go on forever, backed by gentle dunes and the occasional stilted fisherman’s hut. The Atlantic might feel chilly, but it’s perfect once you’ve spent an hour soaking up the sun.

Staying near the edge of the village gives you quieter mornings and easy access to the beach – there’s no hotel like a luxury hotel Comporta. Days here drift by slowly. You might wander along the shore until you can’t see where you started, or settle into a shaded café with a cold drink and fresh grilled fish. The most popular is Comporta Café Beach Club.

Praia Do Vale Centeanes

Praia Do Vale Centeanes is dramatic from the moment you see it. The beach is framed by towering limestone cliffs. The golden sand is soft underfoot, and the water is a bright, almost unreal shade of blue.

The best place to stay is in the Portimão area. It’s a short drive to the clifftop paths. If you prefer to walk, we’d recommend Carvoeiro.

Once you reach the cliffs, you can head east toward hidden coves and the famous cave of Benagil, or west toward bustling resort towns like Alfanzina or Vale de Covo. We also absolutely recommend you go to the Algar Seco Rocks just next to Praia Do Vale Centeanes.

Mornings are peaceful here, especially if you arrive before the sun fully clears the cliffs.

There are a couple of casual spots to grab lunch right on the sand, serving everything from sardines to light salads. One of the best is Helders Restaurant Bar.

Praia Da Marinha

Consistently named one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Praia Da Marinha is as photogenic in real life as it is online. The limestone formations rise out of the water with arches you can swim under if the tide is right. The sand is fine and golden, and the water is clear enough to see the fish swimming past your feet. It truly is a magical location.

We recommend staying somewhere along the coast road so you can walk or cycle to the beach. It’s more of a remote beach, so some people might not enjoy walking as far. You can find Airbnbs closer, but one of the main areas near the beach is Benagil.

If you do walk, the view from the cliff path above is worth stopping for. It’s a busy beach in the height of summer. We recommend you come early in the day, or better yet, aim for late May or early October. Warning: the water is colder.

There are so many beaches we could have included on our list, but these are our favorites. They’re the definition of an unforgettable beach escape. Visit yourself in 2025 to see.
