Las Vegas Destination Guide

Las Vegas

While Las Vegas hotels may have a reputation as an adult playground, it actually has a lot to offer families and couples, as well as groups. There are many Vegas Hotels that are family-friendly, and the vibrant, fun-loving atmosphere is exciting for all ages.

The elegantly decorated tower rooms at the MGM Grand Las Vegas have two sumptuous queen sized beds, and the spacious rooms accommodate up to four guests; making them perfect for families and groups.

With a pool complex, resident lions and the amazing Cirque du Soleil show, there’s plenty to keep kids entertained at the MGM Grand. Why not try the jungle-themed Rainforest Café for those casual meals with the children in Vegas.

The themed hotels in Vegas are attractions in themselves, so why not enjoy a fun gondola ride with the family at the Venetian, or ride the roller coaster at New York-New York.

At the Mirage there’s the Secret Garden, which is home to some of the world’s rarest and most exotic animals, as well as a visually stunning volcano that marks the entrance to the hotel.

Speaking of roller coasters, Vegas has many to offer. The Adventuredome is a huge, indoor theme park, which you can enjoy whatever the weather, and with names like Insanity, Inverter, Turbo Drop and Chaos, the rides at Vegas are a must for thrill-seekers.

For a more relaxed break you can take in the spectacular fountains outside the Bellagio hotel, which do an amazing routine set to music at least every half an hour up until midnight.

Those with a sweet tooth should head to the Ethel M Chocolate factory where you can see real chocolate production, followed by a trip to the multi-coloured M&M’s World.

Kids and big kids will love the Lied Discovery Children’s Museum, and any one with an interest in stars and celebrities will be in their element at Madame Tussauds.

It may seem that everything in Vegas is artificial, at first glance; even more so when you consider that Lake Mead, where you can enjoy boating, swimming and more, is in fact, man made. Yet you can’t visit Vegas and overlook one of the most stunning natural wonders of the world; the Grand Canyon.

One mile deep and 280 miles long, the Grand Canyon is an amazing sight to behold, and many Vegas visitors choose to take it in by helicopter in order to get really breathtaking views.

Shows are a big part of the Vegas experience, and ‘the bigger the better’ tends to be the motto. The Cirque du Soleil shows will leave you amazed, whereas an uplifting production such as The Lion King is a great show for the kids.

The dining options in Vegas are staggeringly varied, and whether you want a quick bite or a high-end dinner you’ll find what you are looking for. There are some great themed restaurants in Vegas that can make for a fun evening out, such as the Hard Rock Café and Planet Hollywood. Motorbike lovers shouldn’t miss a Harley Hog sandwich at the Harley Davidson Café.

Those on a budget will find buffets to be a good value choice in Vegas; whereas those on the hunt for dining of the very highest class should book a high tea at the Bellagio.

Whatever you want, if it involves fun then Vegas has it in spades. Much more than just casinos and showgirls, this bright city of lights has lots for visitors of all ages and tastes.

Enjoy the magic of the themed hotels, the excitement of the theme park rides and the wonder of the shows during a trip to spectacular Vegas, and return home counting down the days until you can say Viva Las Vegas again.
