Full Moon Night

Moro Bottoms, New Edinburg, AR

In the current day swamp timberlands, lies a history that is stained with blood. For it was here the 2,000 person Union Army wagon train was halted and destroyed by 8,000 Confederate forces. This battle was the death knell for the Camden Expedition. This picture was taken in the middle of hundreds of square miles of open farm land at the very same spot where the Confederate cavalry camped. The same moon, same perspective, 161 years later that the Union Army and across the Moro Creek, the awaiting Confederate Army waited to ambush.
