Back in 2003, we took a giant leap of faith. We started a full-feature travel magazine and decided to publish it exclusively online.
It was a stretch for us, a group of print journalists whose usual joy came from seeing our words in newsprint or on the glossy pages of magazines.
But we believed that media influence was changing — and that new tools could be found online. (Evidently we were right, for here you are.) Perhaps even crazier than publishing online was the topic we chose to celebrate — global travel.
Those were the days not long after 9/11. Americans, critics said, weren’t traveling overseas. In fact, many newspapers and magazines had cut back their international coverage. Who in their right minds would start a travel magazine that not only covered international travel, but focused on it entirely?
Well, passion can do crazy things to a person. We were — and still are — deeply committed to bringing the world to our readers, wherever they may be.
What have we found? That thousands of people around the globe share our deep love of exploring the world. Go World Travel now has subscribers in more than 50 countries, and that number grows each month.
We’re growing, and working hard to bring the world to your fingertips. These are exciting times for Go World Travel, and while we may have started off in a tiny American office, we’ve grown into an international team of writers. Based in Colorado, USA, we view the world as our backyard — and it’s just waiting to be explored. We hope you’ll join us in the journey.
