There are stereotypes about every destination. Many of them are way off-base, while other stereoptypes hold a grain of truth. Mention New Zealand, for example, and certain images spring to mind: the towering peaks seen in The Lord of the Rings, adventure outfitters bungee jumping from bridges and thousands of sheep roaming the countryside.
But New Zealand is much more than adventure-crazed outfitters and sheep stations. In this month’s special section, we take an in-depth look at the Kiwi Nation, from the beaches of the Bay of Islands to the snowfields of Fox Glacier.
