Where in the World?

A crowded bus ride along narrow, winding roads ends at this famous statue, where visitors must climb 268 steps to the top. Completed in 1993, the Buddha was constructed of 202 bronze pieces, and is located in one of the world’s most densely populated places.

This city is a mecca of modern architecture. Its well-known bank tower was met with furious debate upon construction, as critics felt the building’s harsh angles cast negative feng shui energy upon the region.

Despite its reputation for crowds and a bustling urban atmosphere, the city is home to many parks, which include traditional gardens and a sculpture walk. Hilly countryside parks provide ample hiking and camping opportunities.

Once under British rule, this city maintains one of the least-restricted economies in the world. Visitors flock to popular night markets where new and old merge to create the city’s rich cultural core.

Where am I?
